Tv presenter Noel Edmonds and several of his production team have been struck down by a virus at the Endemol studios in Arnos Vale.
The 57-year-old star of Channel 4 cash quiz Deal Or No Deal has been forced to cancel a week of recording. He is set to return to the Bath Road studio shortly. Mr Edmonds, who has had a triumphant return to the nation's screens after a break of almost six years, was ordered by his doctor to take a complete rest from recording.
The entire production team, which produces three or four shows a day, has been forced to cancel 15 episodes of the programme.
But an Endemol spokeswoman said that because the crew was so far ahead of its recording schedule, viewers would not see any disruption to the series. The spokeswoman said: "Unfortunately, a number of the Deal Or No Deal team have come down with a virus and Noel is the latest to be struck down.
"Endemol appreciates how hard the team works and has advised that they take this week off to completely get back to good health."
Until Deal Or No Deal, Noel Edmonds last appeared on TV as the presenter of BBC1 show Noel's Christmas Presents on Christmas Day, 1999.
The presenter now lives in the city and has enjoyed huge success with the hit show. Earlier this month he came close to picking up a gong for Best Entertainment Performance at the Baftas but was pipped to the post by Jonathan Ross.
