Tharg drinker of cider |
Posted - 11/07/2004 : 20:12:37 Hello all, I went to visit Keith Orchard on Friday, and took full advantage of his generosity by sampling everything in sight. During the course of my glugging, Keith told me how used to be club captain of Nailsea and Backwell Rugby Club, and how on Saturday 17th July they'll have a couple of small barrels of Keith's product in the rugby club. One is a barrel of Blakeney Red perry - this stuff is superb, and it's a Forest native - and the other is a cider (I can't remember which one, but it'll be good). If any of you manage to try some let me know what you think, I love his ciders.
And you will know us by the trail of empties.... |

Posted - 13/07/2004 : 11:32:22 Ive seen the posters for this event and thought it looked good, and it sounds even better now i know there will be some unusual ciders in attendence rather than just the usual beer-festival suspects...
Unfortunately the Rugby Club have made the monumental mistake of holding a cider-festival when virtually the entire HMZ team are away for the weekend, surely halving the profits they could have made by holding it a week later???!!! Gutted to be missing this.
Perhaps a cider-festival could be an idea for the Nailsea United fund-raising? I'll happily help organise it!
