Your friendly Albion supporting pal reporting in....

I have recently sampled two new ciders (to me at least) in The Triangle area.

1. The Park - Savannah cider - a South African brew, believe it or not, deep in cider country. I was a little surprised at this - but it seems decent enough. Served in 330ml clear bottles - looks a little trendy, if you get my meaning. Not sure of the strength - 6% is probably about the mark.

2. Her Manos - Headford Ridge Bin 5. This bar has only been open for a couple of weeks. I asked if they had cider and the barmaid replied in the positive but that it was 7.5%. I cheekily asked if they had anything stronger. It's a traditionally made (whatever that means) cider from Bridgwater. I assume it's a small brewery as the email address on the back was an AOL one - they do not even seem to have their own website. The bottle details the 'frighteningly expensive' production method of using real fruit not concentrate. Nice stuff though.

Trusting you'll be enjoying Torquay as much as I'll be enjoying Leeds, West Ham and Sunderland. Cruel these playoff things...
