Some of you might have seen the story about our end-of-year poll on the homepage, but here are the details again - and if you want to vote you can reply to this topic with your choices (copy-and-paste the form below into a new post and fill them in), or email us at hannahmorezider@hotmail.com . I will put my own choices on here tomorrow morning so you can all have a laugh...

like most good magazines and websites, HMZ have decided to run our own End-Of-Year-Poll. We would like to hear your favourite music, films, sports events of the last year and will compile an overall Top Ten for each category in few weeks - winners will be notified!

You can have up to 3 votes in each category, but don't have to vote in each one if you can't be arsed. (i.e. some of our visitors from Portishead might not have anything to vote for in "Best Sporting Moment" so you can just skip this category and go on to the next one). The things you vote for must have happened or been released between 1st November 2003 and 1st November 2004. Closing date for voting = 19th November. One lucky voter drawn at random will win a pint!

(please not: this is'nt the same as the HMZ Cider Awards which will appear in a few months).

It was actually the Mysterious Cities of Gold, featuring Estoban, a small girl, a golden eagle and an unrelated man who was strangely never questioned as to why he was hanging around with young girls and boys! He was Peacock in cartoon form!

What a programme!

Sorry Sanjay, the voting finished a couple of weeks ago and the first few results are online: http://www.hannahmorezider.co.uk/endofyearpoll04.htm

Cheers for voting tho.

Isn't City of God a cartoon that used to be on TV in the mid-80's?? Or was that City of Gold?

The results of first few categories are on the website: http://www.hannahmorezider.co.uk/endofyearpoll04.htm

The top two TV programmes were clear leaders and that was a very close race with the winner just nipping it by one point.

More results to follow later this week...

Cheers for the votes so far, we are almost at the half way stage and there are some surprising leaders emerging so far... The Americans, Scottish and Welsh are leading in more than half the categories between them!

Still two weeks to go and everything could change... get yer votes in.

- i could also mention that Best of REM was released before Nov 03, and so was Bad Day, but things may just get too anal so as long as things are roughly within the year then thats ok! The cider book is pushing it a bit tho, next someone will be nominating the bible cos they read in for the first time last week!

Best band is just the bands you think were the best based on their releases and gigs between Nov 03 and Nov 04, you dont have put them in the top 3 of anything else to include em - maybe GLC were just a good all-rounder with a handful of good singles, a good LP and some good gigs without being the best at anything?

I wasn't sure about the date of the blur one, I'll replace that with Jungle Jim's "Gods of Hellfire Volume 2", which was definitely 2004, and unbelievably no-one else has voted for.

As for the book, it has been more useful to us in 03/04 than in 99, whilst technically it should have been honoured in last year's awards, we didn't have any so it's in here.

Cider's coming home...
Gents Posted - 27/10/2004 : 15:09:41
i think thats OK, it had some new songs on, and its REM so i'll let him. Not that im making up rules as i go along or anything.

No re-releases tho. Actually that rules out Snow Patrol i think.
