Does anyone know of any good cider pubs around Reading centre? Im off there on Friday and will be aiming to sniff some out.

Well as i suspected it was a largely dissappointing day in terms of cider pubs, with one very, very big exception - The Hobgoblin, right in the city centre. Absolutely quality pub with loads of interesting ales as well as some very nice Weston's Vintage, and Weston's Perry. They had about 10 more manacubes of different types of Westons stacked up in various places around the pub that were to be put to use soon, but despite our best efforts to drain the manacubes that were currently in use we didn't manage to try any of these. This pub was so good we went there on 3 separate occasions in 1 day! More details: http://www.beerintheevening.com/pubs/show.shtml/367/Hobgoblin/Reading

Also worth noting, was this pub: http://www.beerintheevening.com/pubs/show.shtml/1601/Scruffy_Murphys/Reading as it did a fairly decent pint of Addlestones (not amazing, but considering what else was on offer it was a welcoming sight)
