Posted - 18/05/2007 : 09:19:29 How many teams have played in two finals, one at the the millenium stadium and one at wembley in the same season?
The answer at the moment is none.
Come tomorrow evening Chelsea will be the only team to have done it. Come next saturday Bristol Rovers will be the second team.
Unlucky lads, had your bit of glory with your promotion but the gas have outshone you!!
Goodnight Irene... |

Saying that, I play better football than the Rovers! |

Posted - 29/05/2007 : 16:16:57 I can understand people wanting to go to see Wembley, But I'd want to see a decent game of football.
The Rovers game on Saturday was anything but a good game of fooball. I've seen better matches with Tony Smith playing! |

Mitchard, i do bite, but not that easily!! haha
I think this is another point that should be addressed the amount of sad city fans that either went on saturday to 'support' shrewsbury or went on sunday to 'support' yeovil.
I can accept that its a day out at wembley but the whole point of going there is surely having the experience with your own team?!! |

If you want a laugh read the topic on otib.co.uk "Wembley what a place" - the chairman of the city supporters club drove a minibus of gasheads to wembley and watched the game with them. Fair to say he shouldn't have then written about the experience on the city forum, the thread got closed when people actually started threatening him!! |

James Tay’s you seemed to have an opinion about our discussions on the forum on Sunday night… do you fancy joining in today?!
Please note any other City supporters "congratulating" Rovers will be banned from the forum indefinitely.
I expect it from Nick as he's already crossed to the dark side. |

Posted - 18/05/2007 : 16:49:26 I'm not an expert on anything Shippers. I'm just a man with an opinion, just like everyone else!
What you may have noticed though, Is that I really love winding people up! It's easier with some people than with others!
Getting back to the rovers; I'm quite glad they made it to the final. It gives us another chance to see Steve Phillips play. His performance last night was the funniest thing i've seen in months!!!
On another subject, did you see the end of season player stats for the premiership? The most fouled player in the premiership was the Legendary Mikel Arteta. Fouled over 140 times. All of them in the 2 games against Liverpool!!!

Posted - 18/05/2007 : 15:51:30 Sorry lads I didn’t join in with the current debate because all this championship league talk has gone way over my head! It sounds like the Everton fan is the biggest expert in this department though.
If you want me to bring myself down to that level I would like to say good luck to Rovers at Wembley but your season hasn’t come close to what City have achieved this season.

Posted - 18/05/2007 : 15:10:20 I had to laugh at the Rovers singing "are you watching Ashton Gate" at the end. All the city fans are so jealous that they're going to be stuck in the championship, not enjoying a big day out against the mighty MK or Shrewsbury to win promotion to the promised land of league 1.
Fair play to Steve Phillips though last night, he's tried his best to keep Rovers down, at least twice he actually dived out the way of the ball, and he carried it into his own net, but the ref saw through his plan and disallowed it. Really we should have loaned boom boom McCombe back to Lincoln for the night, never mind its funnier watching the Gas embarrass themselves in a bigger game, 2-0 in the first 5 mins has to be on the cards again.
Tell you one thing the City fans will be jelaous of gasheads for next season though and that is the price of tickets. £30 in the Dolman next season! |
