Posted - 26/10/2007 : 10:06:11 Some might say it's a sad day for Tottenham.
After losing to Spanish minnows Getafé, Tottenham fans learnt that Manager Martin Jol had been sacked.
Rumours suggest that Juande Ramos has been lined up to take over, with Gus Poyet as assistant (because Ramos can't speak a word of English).
Personally, i would have liked Jol to stay It's the board who should be sacked! |

Jol has NEVER been director of football at Spurs. He came in as a coach and was Santini's number 2. He never had a say in buying players then. Director of Football at that time was Frank Arnesen and he bought the players.

And City in the promotion spots for the Premier League.
All I can say is, happy days |

Posted - 26/10/2007 : 14:27:28 It is ironic really: Jol was brought in as Director of Football when Santini was manager and Jol bought players for Santini. This summer the Directors are buying players for Jol.
Tottenham are a blueprint on how not to run a football club. |

Posted - 26/10/2007 : 11:52:51 The problem is Phil, it was the board that spent half that money on a player that Jol did not want! He said no to the signing of bent but they went ahead and did it anyway! That is no way to run a team!

Posted - 26/10/2007 : 11:15:14 It's a shame he got sacked, but it was only a matter of time, and the performances and results didn't help. Playing devils advocate though the board invested lots of money and expected results that haven't materialised (just like liverpool) so Jol got the boot. I reckon that means fat Rafas days are numbered!! |

Posted - 26/10/2007 : 10:22:14 I have to agree with Rob. The board should go! Did anyone notice when they scored the winner, Levy and Kelmsey laughing and joking with each other? Disgraceful scenes.
Also who would sack a manager before an important game like that! After all it is a route back in to Europe (league is prob to much to hope for now!)
I would just like to say thanks to Jol for 2 great years. He has been one of our most successful managers and has been treated badly.

We want Levy out…………...
