City have announced they have parted company with manager Danny Wilson. The general consensus on the previous forum was that this would be a good thing. I was undecided. But questions follow?

Who to bring in next?

Why offer 7 players new contracts when you are going to sack the manager? Surely you should wait for teh new manager to state who he wants to keep.

Perhaps that way Burnell would not have been offered a contract.

Tin man is a good option, we have no money to spend so tins knows what every player can do. Hopefully he can see where wilson was going wrong.

I think this is good news for us, at last we have much needed passion at the club!! It is likely that tommy doc, danny coles and steve phillips (who were likely to go) will stay on with tin man as manager. I think he knows the club well enough and will get us our much needed promotion sooner rather than later (hopefully next season)

ooooh tinman is our manager
he wears a red and white suit
he manages bristol city
and is having a toot!
hes better than danny wilson
he'll get us to the top
and deja vous in 3 years time
when we win at the kop!!

So what does everyone think of tin man as the new player manager?...i think that it is quite a big risk to take as he has no experience!!!....i think most of the fans will be pleased as he is a big fans favourite.....do you not think it is strange that all this was not done before danny wilson choose what players to keep and what ones to get rid of?

Completely agree with Gents regarding Tinnion and Fawthorp, however it makes you think.......why did Peter Taylor turn down the Under 21 post at the start of the week!?!?! Does he know something we dont?

How about bigger name managers? David Platt maybe able to do something, although I hope we are not linked with the same candidates that were being bound around Home Park recently - Trevor Francis and John Gregory. Strachan looked good in the Carling Cup.

Also I didnt realise that Colin Sexstone was a member in the forum! Whats your user name Colin!?!

It costs nothing to love someone

I'd be happy to see Leroy come here, im sure we could tempt him away, im not sure how City's relationship with him is after the thing with his son tho but i can't imagine it'll cause big problems. His first season as manager was actually at Merther Tydvil and he got them relegated tho!

Wouldn't mind seeing a Thawthrop/Tinnion double act - they know the players and division better than anyone. Thawthrop came in before and took over from a manager playing boring football with players out of position (like Wilson?), and turned us into an exciting side who achieved promotion-form in the half of the season he was there and he reached Wembley. Wouldn't like to see Tinnion on his own just yet, he'd need someone more experienced with him I think.

Really don't want Glenn Roeder, his record is bad, and he hasn't had much to do with the lower divs for a while.

Apparently we have someone lined-up already.

ZIDER!

Good young manager, plays passing attractive football and his managerial record is one season as manager = promotion

Good news for the club. It does seem strange to let wilson decide who's going and who's staying when you are getting rid(unless wilson jumped shiped)
