Well The Vertigo Tour Kicked of last night (well finished about 3 hours ago) in San Diego. Seen lots of pics and heard lots of stories.

This is way it works (may not in Europe though) there will be two ticket lines GA Public and GA Members (you will be in the members line) both lines are let in at the same time but the members line goes quicker. You are given a wrist band, you go to a computer and it scans the band if it goes Red and says VERTIGO your in the mixer (bomb, egg, oval what ever you want to call it) and allowed to take in one other.

Here some pics
http://www.flickr.com/photos/38353360@N00/7774023/

Set List (this looks like it will change night to night) starts from the bottom.

10:56 pm: The lights go on. What a night, what a show...it's all over!

10:53 pm: Bono leaves the stage first, followed by Edge moments later, waving as he goes off-stage. Adam is next to go, leaving Larry on the drums to close the song with a brief solo. After he leaves, the crowd continues to chant loudly "How long...to sing this song?" as the lights remain down, and the One Campaign "UNITE" text messaging instructions appear on screen

10:48 pm: 40 (sigh.....) :-) ... AND I WILL SIIIIIIIIIING, SING A NEW SOOOONG - Bono calls the name of each band member during the song. He ends the song shining a spotlight on the audience. (this has not been done since 1983 the ultimate way to end a U2 concert.

10:44 pm: YAHWEH - Larry plays on keyboards

10:40 pm: ALL BECAUSE OF YOU - The band skips a planned break before this song and stays on stage to continue playing.

10:34 pm: ONE - Bono talks about the One Campaign before starting the song, but does not introduce the planned text message campaign to encourage new One Campaign signups.

10:28 pm: WHERE THE STREETS HAVE NO NAME - after "Streets", Bono says the band will "see Mexico next year", as in -- play a show(s) there

10:22 pm: PRIDE (IN THE NAME OF LOVE) - Bono shouting "Sing it for Africa! Everyone is equal in the eyes of God. Everyone!"

10:19 pm: (BREAK.....)

10:15 pm: ELEVATION - Larry has a mic and is singing. Break should be next, followed by a nice, long encore.

10:10 pm: THE FLY - with a mean guitar solo and ending, with Bono repeatedly shouting "change!"

10:06 pm: ZOO STATION - with updated lyrics

10:00 pm: RUNNING TO STAND STILL with "Hallelujah" at end; leads into Declaration of Human Rights video, which is much shorter than during the dress rehearsal two nights ago.

9:54 pm: BULLET THE BLUE SKY - Bono wears a blindfold at the end of the song and includes a bit of "Hands That Built That America."

9:49 pm: SUNDAY BLOODY SUNDAY

9:44 pm: LOVE AND PEACE OR ELSE

9:38 pm: SOMETIMES YOU CAN'T MAKE IT ON YOUR OWN

9:33 pm: Bono talks over the beginning of MIRACLE DRUG. He mentions the ticketing problems and fans waiting in line. He says they weren't sure if they'd make it to San Diego. "It's a miracle...."

9:27 pm: NEW YEAR'S DAY

9:23 pm: BEAUTIFUL DAY ("Blackbird" bit at end)

9:19 pm: INTO THE HEART

9:15 pm: AN CAT DUBH

9:11 pm: THE CRY / ELECTRIC. CO.

9:07 pm: VERTIGO (with "Stories for Boys" bit)

9:01 pm: U2 is on stage, confetti is falling everywhere, and the opening song of the Vertigo 2005 World Tour is CITY OF BLINDING LIGHTS.

8:55 pm: **Intro music begins....

I saw them at Glasto a couple of years ago and they were quite good but they wouldn't have been my first choice. Killers or Razorlight would've been best.

Never mind, at the end of the day we're not there to watch the support. At least they won't upstage the main act, which is a destinct possibility with the Killers shows!

NO NO NO NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO. They are a complete pile of wank both Live and on record. Why does this always happen to me?!? To make things worse, Interpol are just about my favourite band of the last few years. Can we swap tickets for Glasgow, or Cardiff, or anywhere? They cant be the main support for London can they? Theres gotta be someone else surely???

Excellent news, I was trying to work out if any of those US dates were near you.

Think im firmly hoping for Scissor Sisters for Twickenham cos it looks like New Order & Killers are playing Glastonbury (thats assuming I can get tickets for Glastonbury)

Just got two tickets for Tampa Florida, 16 Nov 2005. My code was re-activated, I was getting worried that I would not get tickets having used the code for twickers. So I'm over the moon, everyones a winner, I'm off to guzzle lots of zider.

I've seen all of them so not really bothered, I would like the Killers the most but I'd be happy with Snow Patrol scissor sisters, although they would be my last choice. I've seen them twice and are quite good but didn't think they were brilliant. Killers are easily the best of the 3 live.

Good. Perhaps all the gigs with Killers/Snow Patrol have been announced and Scissor Sisters will do the remaining dates? I'll be happy with that.

I have a history of attracting crap support bands, I remember the REM tour in '95 when most UK dates got the likes of Oasis, Radiohead, Blur, Terrorvision, Beautiful South, etc and in Cardiff we got The Cranberries and Del Amitri

Kings are touring America with U2 and would think it very unlikely to come to Europe too, say that I think PJ Harvey did last time (but she does have same manager as U2).

So here is the tour...

Brussels King Baudouin Stadium (June 10) - SNOW PATROL
Gelsenkirchen Schalke Stadium (12)
Manchester City of Manchester Stadium (14) - SNOW PATROL
London Twickenham Stadium (18-19)
Glasgow Hampden Park (21)

Cardiff Millennium Stadium (29) - KILLERS
Vienna Ernst Happel Stadium (2 July) - KILLERS
Katowice Slaski Stadium (5) - KILLERS

Zurich Letzigrund Stadium (11)
Amsterdam Arena (13) - KILLERS
Milan San Siro (19);
Rome Olympic Stadium (23)
Oslo Vallehovin Stadium (27)
Gothenburg Ullevi Stadium (29)
Copenhagen Parken (31)
Munich Olympic Stadium (3 August)
Nice Parc des Sports Charles Ehrmann (5)
Barcelona Camp Nou (7)
San Sebastian Anoeta Stadium (9)
Madrid Estadio Vicente Calderon (11)
Lisbon Alvalade (14)

I'd be very pleased if we get Killers or Scissor Sisters, dissappointed if we get stuck with Snow Patrol though, although id guess snow patrol would look most likely from looking at the dates so far. Do you know how many support bands they'll be? Surely more than 1 for £62? And i think Kings of Leon are supporting in America, any chance of them doing London too?
