Posted - 03/02/2005 : 11:09:54 As Glastonbury, REM, U2, Queen, and the 100's of other gigs this summer obviously aren't going to provide us with the amount of ROCK we require, a few of us are planning a trip to the Reading Festival too. Anyone interested? NME is claiming the headliners are Iron Maiden, The Pixies (last ever UK gig) and Foo Fighters, which will be great if true, and the line-up is always pretty good anyway.

Some of those comments are weird when you read the rumours for other festivals, and The Killers did seem almost certain to play Glastonbury, i don't really know what that comment can mean if it doesn't mean that Reading is the only English festival they are playing!

Posted - 22/03/2005 : 08:45:44 I'll probably just go for one day.
Looks like it'll have to be the Saturday, with Jimmy Eat World and the Foo Fighters.

Posted - 22/03/2005 : 07:56:27 Unofrtunately I'm going to have to say no, if I go anywhere else it will probably be Isle of Wight.
There seems to be an awful lot of good bands who are only playing there, maybe is some dodgy marketing ploy based around the fact that the glasto line-up hasn't been released yet. The Killers are 'to be confirmed' which as we know means they are pretty definite to play glasto. Bloc Party are also 'strong rumour' and given that they are just getting big I think it would be unlikely for them to only play one festival. The Tears are also a strong rumour for glaso yet stated as 'debut uk festival' despite being after glasto. So I think in reality they're playing on the fact that the glasto line-up isn't confirmed yet... or they're just lying!
