Posted - 25/04/2005 : 18:00:36 Fellas. Thanks for the nice words! We had a cracking set and the new venue and huge crowd certainly boosted the confidence. I'd like to play there again very soon and I'd like to play to Hunting Dodos huge honey filled crowd! |

Posted - 25/04/2005 : 15:08:40 Not to mention the gurning of the drummer, who seemed to be in absolute pain on every beat, except the slow songs, which seemed to reduce him to tears!
Another entertaining part was the 2 piano based songs, where the guitarist played the keyboard, leaving the usual keyboard/percussionist to sit watching, shaking his head as his moment of glory was stolen away from him!

Posted - 25/04/2005 : 14:07:11 Quality gig, best performance ive seen from the band, they just keep getting better. Listened to the CD this morning, good stuff.
I thought Hunting Dodo were pretty good, enjoyed watching them, although the hair incident did make it hard to concentrate on much else early on. If they ever read the forum my one bit of advice would be to make sure they dont play with those lights behind them again, not only could you see Axl's hair falling out in lumps, but the bassist looked like he had a blue-rinse afro!
Kn-kn-knockin on heavens doooor, whooo

Posted - 25/04/2005 : 12:34:44 Last night was very impressive. Treehouse Burning responded well to the bigger venue and bigger crowd, with a hugely confident display. The sound quality was spot-on, and nice and loud too. For any music fans who have not yet been along to a TB gig I recommend you make it a priority, as for the first time since Adge Cutler died Nailsea truly has a band to be proud of! Gav also has CDs on sale for a fiver, which again I think everyone should buy. (I can't remember the exact % of the takings you said you would give me Gav?!)
Hunting Dodo were no less freaky-looking than last time, and as clumps of the singer's long ginger hair began falling out during and early bout of head-shaking there appeared to be a genuien chance he might be bald by the end of the gig. The highlight had to be as the songs began to sound like Guns n Roses with different lyrics Gents requested Sweet Child of Mine, and had the next song dedicated to him! Hunting Dodo are certainly popular with their student fans and were able to treat them to a marathon set, but not sure that a band presumably trying to get signed should be indulging in so many epic instrumental jams in gigs like these. |

Posted - 25/04/2005 : 11:15:17 Thanks to those who came last night.
Pretty sure that was the biggest crowd we've played to apart from the Academy gig, and it was a cool night!
Cheers all,

Posted - 19/04/2005 : 14:38:53 Flyers will be on the website tomorrow probably but I'll bring a load on the night too so don't worry.
Me, Jamie & Stu are coming back a little earlier from Stag on Sunday (you all get a big lie in) so we can get gear together and soundcheck on time.

Posted - 19/04/2005 : 11:29:10 Are you going straight from the stag do to the fleece? You could have quite an enthusiastic following by that time of night I reckon!
Are there any flyers (discounts) for this one?
Cider's coming home...

Posted - 19/04/2005 : 10:38:33 I reckon we'll rock twice as hard.
We'll still be in party mood. It's a pretty big deal this one for us so we have no choice but to be spot on! |
