What a fantastic gig last night. The best performance at the Millenium Stadium since March 2003 when the LDV trophy was successfully captured.
We even made it through a gig in Wales unscathed, despite the best attempts of the bands.
First there was Roddy from Idlewild:
"We were in Bristol last night"
Us> "Yeah!!"
Rest of crowd. "Boooo"
Roddy> "And the people there said Cardiff were a rubbish crowd"
Us> "Wahey, Bristol!!"
Most of crowd> "Booo"
Some blokes next to us> "Bristol W**k W**k W**k etc".

Then the Zutons:
"Does anyone support Liverpool?"
far too many people> "Yeah!!"
Us> "Boooo"
Zutons> "Does anyone support TNS"
Us> "Boooo" (but no real cheers from anyone)

Then to REM, the pride of England sho surely could be relied on for a lack of welshness? No. Firstly during the break before the encore they put on a graphic flashing up the names of everywhere from their world tour, which ends with Cardiff flashing in big letters and the whole crowd going wild, with us looking bemused and wondering how to avoid cheering and a kicking at once. But it soon got worse, as Michael walked back out in a welsh rugby top with Stipe 1 on the back, again mental cheering from all around, but the only cheering he got from us was when he took it off and chucked it away.

But anyway, other than that it was amazing!

Awesome gig.

Thought J Rice, Idlewild and the Zutons were pretty good too.
