Thanks for the info Ivanhoe. £250 is a fairly reasonable price if it can be split between however many people want to do it and you get a few interested, compared with the prices it usually costs per-person for one of his courses. Its still probably going to be out of my price-range at the moment though (unlike yourself I haven't exactly been doing well at the "spending no money" bit lately )... but could you keep me posted of what the final price turns out to be please? I'd definitely like to have a go.
If this is the book you're talking about then WHSmith's website are claiming to be able deliver it for less cash in less time: http://www.whsmith.co.uk/whs/go.asp?ISBN=0955103304&DB=220&Menu=Books
Cheers for the brewery tour invite, sounds like a good job to me! Are you allowed to say what brewery it is? My tastes definitely stretch to real ale so it would be great to do the tour sometime, ive only got 1 very short London visit planned at the moment (for August Bank Holiday Sunday) so thats probably no good, but im sure i'll be up there again soon.

That's the same book Gents. I never thought of looking in WHS (somehow I'm always surprised to see they still exist).
If you're at all interested in the course, then I'm sure we could come to some sort of mutually beneficial arrangement on agreeing a cost. Think about it and let us know. Anyone else chipping in will help us, and we've made the committment to pay the full cost anyway. The offer's there. If it suits you, then get in touch.
Brewery tours are (I think) only on weekdays. I've done a couple and they're quite informative and generally good fun (and they let you do plenty of tasting afterwards). I work for Fullers, so you may well know one or two of our beers. There are probably quite a few that you haven't seen or tasted (based on the assumption that it's only Pride that gets widely distributed outside London), and they're all good (imho), so if you ever get the time just give me a bit of advance warning and I'll sort a tour out for you.
Hope all's well with you.

Cheers, OK i'll let you know, and spread the word to see if anyone else is interested, although I may well struggle to make it anyway as i've got a few days off work at the end of that week already...
Id really like to do a Fullers tour, although i could struggle getting up to London on a weekday because of the same problem of lack of holiday left. I definitely know some of your beers a pretty much like all ive tasted. We get London Pride round loads of places here, and a few places have the Honey beer too which I like very much indeed

It's Peter Mitchell's day rate. You do get (for what wierd reason I don't know, but it's the first time I've been aware of the EU benefitting me) an EU subisdy or grant or something that reduces the cost. |

We did the day with Peter and it was really good. Too much learned to list it all here.
The reason I'm on here really is to ask:
- are you making cider again this year?
If so, do you have any plans/dates/etc? |

Thats good news, have you posted anything about it elsewhere (SE1 forum?) that I can have a read of? I'll have to look out for more days he has coming up when ive got a bit more holiday and money!
Id like to make cider again this year, no plans as yet tho. I think we'll be in the same position as last year in terms of not really having any apples/storage+production space of our own, so we may struggle unless we can join forces with the likes of Al Caholic again. How about yourself Ivanhoe?
Not sure if we've posted this already somewhere, but the last of our cider was lost a few weeks ago when the barrel split . Really surprised it broke, it was fairly new and we kept in watered well for most of its life.
