Top three in order would be

Bristol City 2 Bristol Rovers 1 at Ashton Gate cant remember year but probably about 1994 goalscorers were Nicky Morgan and a tinman penalty. It was a great game amazing atmosphere so tense as both teams were fighting relegation. To cap it all off Ian Alexander (prob my least fav gas player ever got sent off) and it got a bit tasty round the winterstoke road end after as well brilliant!!

Bristol City 3 Bolton 0 Freight Rover Final Wembley 1986. I was only 9 and city was my life back then so to go to wembley to see them was the most amazing. Went with my dad his best mate and my dads brother who all used to play for city at youth level, when i got to the game saw loads of mates from school, and who can forget Glyn Rileys infamous goal celebration. (Sam Allardyce was on the bench but never got on the pitch for Bolton that day) Bolton also included a very young Mark Gavin that day. Brilliant

City 1 Liverpool 1 (2nd game at ashton gate) enough said really, liverpool had barnes fowler rush and they took an absolute spanking at ashton gate we should have beaten them that nite but did it at anfield. Was in b block dolman stand and to see all the scousers next to us in the open end was amazing.

Special mention must go to City 3 Chelsea 1 and City 3 Portsmouth 3 also City 1 Rovers 0 from about 1987 (Walsh did the walshie shuffle on their poo right back Mclean three times on the trot, he ended up on his ass and walshie shot off down the wing, brilliant)

I'd agree with the win against Chelsea and the Liverpool games (both) as great matches. Also that 3-3 with Pompey, the highlight of which was the riot before the game when someone got smacked off the side of the Dolman (in the pre-family enclosure days!)

Other great games were Greg Goodridge's debut when we beat Luton 5-1, every time we have beaten Rovers, and a 3-2 win at Watford which almost took us into the Div One playoffs.

But I think my favourite was the 4-0 win against Walsall on the last day of the 1990 promotion season - the atmosphere was fantastic, we didnt quite win the league but it was the best pitch invasion I've ever seen at the end!

Not really a lot left most of the ones I was thinking of have already been taken. The LDV final probably deserves a mention because it was a brilliant day out and we won! The Swindon game before beating Chelsea was good as well, Robbie Turner and his sweatbands, i think that was the year that Taylor scored in every round as well (that we were in!) Beating Leeds 2-1 at home in the coca-cola around 97-98 was good as well. Special mention has to go to Brentford away for the Wembley tour before hand with junior reds, Newcastle at home in the coca-cola - we got beat 5 nil but Newcastle were brilliant, and all those games where we came out of the Dolman and had to run across Ashton park to escape the fighting (gold old days!)

Agree with you about the Walsall game Jim, i think mum was even on the pitch wasn't she?!

And if you're talking best pitch invasions surely you have to look no further than when Rovers were chased off the pitch by the block b boys! can't remember when it was but it was well funny, I remember some gas head saying he actually feared for his life!

I think it was the same game. Live on Sky about 1996. Rovers came on to celebrate their 98th minute equaliser, and then City came on, chased the Gashead fans off first and then went after the players.
Some of the Rovers players had to hide in the Williams tunnel.
And the TV pictures captured Ridgey strolling through the middle of it all.

best game for me was city winning 4-2 at twerton park, city had bad record there for years. shaved my head number 1 all over, got drunk and celebrated with seal and agostino scoring. still got highlights on video which you can see me on the railings at the end of the game, my nan was first to point me out. good days shame we wont play them again unless we get the scum in the cup
