Just seen a news story about an "alternative" England football song for this this Euro championships, which sounds pretty good:

http://www.nme.com/news/108400.htm

...but the thing that worries me as that it says this was done as a response to the news Blazing Squad are supposed to be doing the official song!!! Has anyone else heard this? Please tell me it ain't true!

The story came out a couple of months ago that the fa had asked them to do it. I think the FA received torrent of abuse from anyone and everyone who cared about football, and have since had a rethink. There was also loads of rumours about Posh doing it, around the time of the affair stories. Maybe we should start a Mark and Lard style 'What should the England song be' competition! I'll start...

Rio Ferdinand - The Drugs (tests) Don't Work
Gary Neville - He aint heavy, he's my brother
Emile Heskey - Kick I Kick it? (No, I can't)

This sounds like it should be better - looks like Blazin Squad have got the boot. Think the libertines, supergrass effort could have a run for its money after all.

Not sure about the DJ spoonhead influence but it could be alright. What are the Libertines/Supergrass doing?
