Posted - 12/04/2005 : 13:05:04 It's strange with Faithless, I'm not sure that they would make too much fuss about where they play, I saw them play in the afternoon at V last year before a lot of lesser bands. But you can see why anyone would be upset that Kylie is headlining ahead of them!

Posted - 12/04/2005 : 11:36:50 I don't know why Faithless aren't playing, maybe they said you can have the other stage on sunday, and they thought it was cr*p that they were given the other stage while Kylie is on the pyramid. I would agree with them on that, what is Kylie doing headlining Glastonbury, if she has to play she should be on lunchtime like Nelly Furtado last year....the dogging tent line up is looking good though. The Arcade Fire sadly seem to have been lost between the draft and final line-ups. Otherwise the line-up looks very good to me, perhaps not too many "must-sees", but quality bands on the 2 main stages throughout the day every day.
Although our home-made flags are clearly not appreciated by the organisers, are we going to make one this year, and if so what of? I think after 2 failed attempts its probably time to give up on a gazebo.

Posted - 11/04/2005 : 18:00:46 well i dont know about anyone else but im very very pleased with that line-up. 2 disappointing things tho:
- where are Faithless?? I thought they were pretty much certain to play. - the Belly Dance Superstars are missing too!

Posted - 09/04/2005 : 11:10:44 efestivals have got a news item saying that the line-up is going to be releasted on Monday! Apparently Emily was on Radio1 the other day and said this was the case.

Posted - 06/04/2005 : 13:56:44 That looks good, shame Faithless seem not to be playing (although still a chance they'll be on Jazz stage) but otherwise a lot of quality bands there. And reading the subsequent discussion on efestivals it sounds like that list's pretty accurate - Emily Eavis said its out of date, but she couldn't really say anything else, and even then that probably means the vast majority is correct.
Does anyone know much about Arcade Fire, like how they go their name?

Posted - 17/03/2005 : 15:33:50 Was it really a friday?? I had run out of my 2 gallons of cider by the time Faithless played and went and got my jug filled up after that, remembering listening to Coldplay from a ditch a had fallen into which i had to be rescued from by passers by sometime later. Great days.

Posted - 17/03/2005 : 14:48:47 True, but their 2nd album did come out about a week later though and In My Place had already been a massive hit.
I think they were more suited to a headline that Faithless though, because Faithless was amazing as it was because they played for just the right amont of time, they still had a few fillers in there and any longer they might have started to get a bit boring.
That Friday was one of the best days I've had their so I wouldn't change it.

Coldplay were awesome, just those with a short attention span got a bit restless when they played 3 new songs in a row.

It wasn't when they played 3 new songs in a row, it was when they played what at the time were their only 3 big songs first, so we thought they had nothing else to play. Then they played that song that sounded like Bohemian Like You so we started singing that. Not saying the set wasn't good, particularly in retrospect, but at the time they had 1 album and shouldn't have headlined ahead of Faithless. |

Posted - 17/03/2005 : 13:21:41 Chas N Dave will also be amazing.....
Coldplay were ok, but u all have to admit we did slate them. They should NOT have headlined after 1 album. Do you remember the birds that were getting edgy with us and telling us to shut up?....quality!!!

Coldplay were brilliant, much better than an awful lot of bands I've seen there.
