Do they mean Pyramid big screen or cinema big screen? Hopefully Pyramid, cinema field will be too small, and further from Cider Bus.

"Michael Eavis is already dropping hints that U2 may have been already booked for 2005. Faithless are also very likely to play, having turned down the chance to play in 2004 as they want to play Glastonbury as the close to the tour for their current album"
from Efestivals.

If U2 are there then I'm there. If I find out more I'll let you know. It will be my 1st Glastonbury too. |

Excellent, come and join the cider-camp. U2 have been linked with headlining for a few years, but the rumours seem pretty strong this this time. I think they are in Record Collector this month if you don't know already.

As if getting tickets isn't difficult enough already, now we have all this almost a year in advance. I think there is a genuine case for imposing a gagging order Eavis that only allows him to make public comments between the tickets being sold out and the festival starting. Perhaps we can use our website to try and convince people it is just a myth about U2? I would love to see them, but I think they'd be better suited to doing their own show, at Knebworth or somewhere like that where it is just there fans going. They are so popular it would create a genuine risk that the vast majority of the crowd would be just there to see them, which isn't really what Glastonbury's about.

Have to agree with Jim, it's not like Glasto need to have a good line up to sell out so why make the ticket problem worse??
We could start rumours that Nelly Futardo, Black Eyed Peas and Sister Sledge are headling this year to discourage sales?

It looks like we're going to start putting some serious thought into a contigency plan for not getting tickets as discussed this year. I think they should have no one play this year! Make sure the true fans can go!

Well I reckon many of those who managed to get press passes wrote far less than 7000 words about it, so on quantity if not quality we could use that as an argument?
I have actually heard it rumoured that there could be a Glastonbury where no bands play and it is down-sized just to the Greenfields area. I reckon they'd need to keep a couple of smaller stages, but as long as the cider bus and wood piles were still there wouldn't bother me.

Outkast, Kylie Minogue, Keane, R.E.M, Status Quo, The Undertones, Boa, Blackbud, Brian Wilson, Elbow, Faithless, Franz Ferdinand, Kasabian, Snow Patrol, The Streets, The Subways ...

What a coup it would be for HMZ if Coldplay end-up headlining! Predicted even before last year's festival I believe!
