After reading FHM this month I've learned that Cider has played a key role in the invention one of the oldest Christmas past-times. Sadly it's one of the more annoying activities where small Children come to your house and request money in return for screaming at you. Apparently Christmas trick or treat or "carol singing" as it is more popularly known comes from the ancient tradition of wassailing - toasting neighbours to a heathly life.
