A success story for you budding cider entrepreneurs out there.

I bought some of this fella's Hampshire Heart scrumpy at a farmer's market in Winchester on Sunday. As the leaflet said, it is a crisp and refreshing drink, and it comes without the afterburn you get with Thatchers (I still get the rancid guts though but then every cider affects me like that with or without pickled onions). Even my brother liked it. I reckon it tasted like Berrow Hill, only with a bit more body and a lot more expensive (and I'm not dissing Berrow Hill by the way - that scrump's a winner!). Not quite up to the quality of JJJ though... I got a litre left if you bristol boys are interested in trying some.
Price: £7.50 a gallon (strewth!) Verdict: Pretty good Value For Money: Pretty Poor
Oi HMZ, Why not set up a proper cider league table for easy reference: "Which Zider" or something?

Cool, a cider-maker who is younger than us, its nice to see the future of cider-making is being secured. Sure would like to try some of that, but have you ever known me turn down a cider?!?
"Which Zider" guide is very good idea. We've had the plan of a cider review section for ages, along with a zider pub guide, top-ten-cider-bargains-this-week section... but ive just been too busy to do this, or even the Zider Awards or Zider Making Photos '04 We'll get it all sorted one day.
