For those of you who don't check our homepage (I don't blame you, there hasn't been much on there lately) there is a new cider feature on there!

It's basically the photos from the London and Bedminster cider-making weekends from right back in the autumn. Better late than never, more good cider features should follow soon.

Thanks very much to all those who let us use their photos.

Gents, that's great!

We'll have to meet up with you guys and do a comparison tasting (before Al drinks all of his)

All the best

Sounds cool, how much have you got left? I think Al may have drank all his, Ive got about half a pint left to drink. I had a few pints last night, its very nice, the initial taste is lovely and juicy but you get a slightly strange after-taste at first, I got used to that after a few swigs tho and was very impressed overall. Leaves yer mouth very, very dry tho.

We've got about 30 gallons (out of our original, erm.....30 gallons). It's in 4 big containers.

We've had a few tastes when racking off (which we've done twice now), and the only thing that's stopping us temporarily is that we haven't got enough little vessels to put the cider into when we broach one of the big vessels. Hopefully that will be rectified this weekend.

Whatever we do, I'll put a few bottles aside. If you come to the Big Apple, then I'll bring some up for you. Otherwise, we'll definitely have another Somerset camping and cider weekend over the summer, so I'll let you know and you can try some then.

The last tastes (about three weeks ago) were lovely. Better again than when we tasted them about a month previously. Each vessel tastes different (and each is good). I'll hopefully have more details (plus SG readings - as we need them to enter the Big Apple) after the weekend.

Excellent, its sounds good, would very much like to taste some cheers! Do you think you have got any chance of WINNING the Big Apple?! That would be brilliant. Im pretty sure we won't be there sadly, it would have been good to make a weekend of it if we were gonna do the journey at all but Bristol City's last home game of the season (and the subsequent cider-crawl) has put a spanner in those works, and no-one seems too up for going to Much Marcle and back all in one day .
