Ships, you say I should come back when I witness my team win the Champions League 5 times. By my reckoning you've only actually witnessed Liverpools Champions League victory once! Does that mean you wont be back on this forum for at least another 4 years?!?!

p.s

read this http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Heysel_Stadium_disaster

Tragic as the whole thing was Facts speak for themselves.

Well done boys glad you have taken time to look into it. Shame you have selected the points to further attack Liverpool.

The previous year against Roma the final had coincidentally taken place at Roma's Stadio Olimpico in Rome. Liverpool won the cup on penalties. After the match, gangs of Roma fans assaulted Liverpool supporters who were making their way back to their hotels. Many fans were attacked, stabbed and slashed. The appalled Roman press reported that this was not simply a reaction to the defeat, but that Roma fans had stowed weapons in their cars before the game, and had rushed to get them upon the final whistle.

Some Liverpool players and supporters feel that it was wrong to entirely apportion the blame for the disaster on Liverpool supporters, and that other factors, such as the ticketing arrangements and inadequate policing, contributed to the events. The fact that there was never an official inquiry also raised eyebrows.
Many of the most notorious English hooligan firms were there, including MIGS from Luton, Bushwackers from Millwall, the ICF from West Ham and the Gremlins from Newcastle.

UEFA, the organizer of the event, the owners of Heysel Stadium and the Belgian police were never investigated for culpability. There was no official inquiry into the causes of the disaster.

Smithy I believe they actually can record offical measurements of atmosphere in a stadium and I also believe the highest ever created/recorded was when Liverpool played Chelsea in the Carling Cup a couple of years ago. Although I reckon Liverpool v Chelsea in the CL semi final topped that.

Maddog I said come back when you have witnessed your club win the European Cup.

‘5 Times’ was on a separate line and not in the sentence. Just referring to how many times the most successful club in England has won this prize.

I have to disagree Ships, I think that the highest noise level ever recored at a game was Liverpool v Arsenal in the Carling Cup this year. The only issue being that the noise was actually created by your fans booing your own players!

Best fans in the world my arse!!

You asked me to look at the facts and the facts ARE English teams were banned by UEFA and UEFA blamed Liverpool. That is Fact and you cant argue with it. End Of!

Governing bodies/courts who are responsible for dishing out punishment or see to be carrying out justice do not always get their decision correct. - FACT.

Turner, why you bringing arsenal into it?! i was just stating that liverpool fans have a lot to say for themselves and in the last 10 years apart from a champions league and couple of FA cup wins they havent done anything. cas being honest the one they would really want would be the premiership and they havent even got close to that.

But at least their fans are the 'best in the world'. Even after a 6-3 drubbing... 'yeah but did you hear the fans?' well done you booed off your team...

Jammer,

Did you also know that as well as being the best, Liverpool fans are also the most knowledgeable!

Rob, you have missed my point. Ships told me to do research. I did. The only FACTS that I found were that English teams were banned and the reason given for this ban was Liverpool fans. That is Fact. Everything he is saying is just hearsay!

If Liverpool fans are so knowledgable robbie, maybe you can answer the following questions:

1 How many times have Liverpool beaten Everton in the 2006/07 English Premier League season?

2 Who knocked Liverpool out of both the FA Cup, and the League cup this season?

3 What was the score in the League cup game between Liverpool and Arsenal at Anfield this season?

4 True or false? in terms of points, Liverpool are closer to 14th place than they are to top?

I'll put some more challenging football questions on here for you guys later!

How about this one - what was the score the last time Liverpool played Bristol City in a competitive fixture?

I can answer all your questions… but all I really need to say is that at the end of the season Liverpool will once again have a more successful season than Everton.

Also, Arsenal and Everton will never win the cup that all great clubs are judged on… and that’s the European Cup. FACT

P.S Thank you for pointing out a rare occasion where Liverpool have booed their own players. I seem to remember that during the 11 days of Arsenal cup exists we have heard Arseanl fans boo and make a sharp exit even before the final whistle!

Liverpool fans are either really hairy or losing their hair very rapidly - "FACT" - What's up with that?
