Don't worry i will be wearing my milan shirt tonight.

I'm going for a couple in Bristol if anyone wants to join me.

p.s. thanks again to everyone who wrote Liverpool off before last nights game. It does make my visits to Anfield even more enjoyable knowing that all you scum united armchair supporters are getting angry and all jealous of our success... again!!!

1 Man Utd 35 56 85
2 Chelsea 35 40 80
3 Liverpool 36 31 67

1 Inter Milan 34 13 3 1 35 16 14 3 0 36 14 41 87
2 Roma 34 12 4 1 39 8 8 5 4 27 18 40 69
3 AC Milan 34 12 2 3 28 14 7 8 2 26 16 24 59

And they call it the Champions League?!? Perhaps they should re name it the, 'Third in the Domestic League, Miles and Miles behind the Top 2, Cup'

I think this just sums up what a bad cup it actually is! Whoever wins it is NOT the best team in europe! and Im sure even ships will admit to that!

Also, why are milan even in the competition? Its a complete stich up considering that they had points docked and should have been chucked out the competition at the start!! I think a complete revamp of the 'champions' league is in order. Put it back to just CHAMPIONS and just a straight knockout from round 1. Which will make the UEFA cup a trophy worth participating in again... and... Bring back the Cup Winners Cup!!!! If liverpool win it, does this mean we will have 5 teams from this country in the tournament next year? How embarrassing will it be with bolton wanderers representing our country in with europes elite?

Whether you like it or not these are the rules for the CL. Most competitions will have some delay between when a team qualifies and when they eventually reach the final. This is the case in the CL, the World Cup, the Euros and even the English League. Where you finish one season dictates at what level you will play the next.

So AC Milan and Liverpool are only 3rd in their domestic leagues, so what, this is the CL, it is structured in a different way, as is every competition.

In my eyes the league is about endurance, and winning games - Man Utd are proving to be the best in England at this at this moment.
The CL is about big games against the World's top opposition, and making sure you do not lose - AC Milan and Liverpool have proven to be the best in Europe at this moment.

Remember you are English - be proud to support Liverpool on the 23rd May 2007.

They should bring back the 3 foreigners rule too while they're at it. And anyone diving is out of the competition for the season. But they should also clear the bookings for the semis, so you only miss the final if you get booked in both semis.

Think its still only 4 teams from England, the only change would be if Liverpool didnt come in the top 4 then 4th place would miss out and Liverpool would go in.

On the evidence of last night Liverpool will get destroyed though!

I see your point about qualifying periods Stu, but it you can't call a competition a Champions League when you can qualify for it by being 30+ Points behind the eventual league winners.

This happend in 05, when liverpool won it. Fair play for winning it, but should they really have been there in the first place?

But i think this was the case when both Arsenal and Man U got to the final - so no doubt it is happening all around Europer. Personally i think it should just be the winners, but it's all about money, televisions rights, adverting etc etc.

I think it was harder to get in the competition back when it was the European Cup, but easier to win once you were in it as there were not as many good teams to be knocked out. Now it is easier to get in the competition (4 times easier for England) but a lot harder to win it once you are.

What's the chances of Blatter coming on this forum and sharing his point of view....?

After watching Manchester united get a football lesson last night from a very good Milan side it was very embarrassing from a United fans point of view.
I have to agree with Dog though its easier to get in the CL but a lot harder to win the thing.

I don’t often say this but I have to agree with Mourinho:

"If you're not a big club, you choose one competition and you fight in that competition and forget the others.”

But good luck May 23rd

Liverpools continued success in the CL actually makes me question Benetiz abilities to Manage in England!

He is clearly cabable of getting Liverpool to play well against European oppostion, and has been lucky to have the Anfield 12th Man (And Gerrard!) to get past Chelsea in European games.

But when it comes to a Domestic League season I don't think he is up to the job, as is always proved by the distance between the top club, and Liverpool.

I suppose the question for all Liverpool fans is: Are you happy with Champions League success every now and again (and only then if you get Chelsea in the Semis!) or would you rather have a side and a manager capable of winning the League!?!?!?
