I think you've been shot down enough times already Tone, but just to clear this up:

It was Not Shipway's fault i was late, it was my own, as i shouldn't have trusted Paul McLaughlin's driving.
Unlike yourself Tone, i will take responsibility for my own actions/lateness/dissapearing , where as you point the finger at some Vikings - you went home to rest and eat, fact.

As for Bloody Sunday, yes it is for the people, but like most things it still needs managing and organising. I'm sure this year will be 'the bomb', and all will be on deaths door. I think we should have no teams, and ALL drink the same ?!! (37% or above - agreed)

Fact is no one except me and my family knows why I went home so I think you should all f**k off and stop trying to give it the big spuds about I know what u did, bottled bloody sunday etc etc.....

At the end of the day not everyone is going to drink over 37% shots if they dont want too. Can you see Tom doing that?...No!...so what r u going to do, make people drink it.....I dont think so....

I think the reason this thread is so long is because people are trying to use it to re-write history.
First Boxhall tries to claim it was a wind-up that he wanted to go to Kings of Leon last year.
Then Smithy tries to claim he didn't go to Spurs - Man U.
And now Smithy claims that he had some urgent reason why he had to leave, which he has never felt the need to mention before.
The archives of Bloody Sunday know the truth, you cannot change the past, only the future.

I like the idea of everyone drinking the same Dog, but one of the great things about BS2 was the banter during the Liverpool - Everton game, which although it got a bit out of hand was brilliant when one team forced the other to drink. That would be lost if we were all on the same side, although it didn't work so well last year.

Smithy is right that no-one can be forced to drink 37% shots, no-one can be forced to drink at all, no-one can be forced to come to Bloody Sunday at all. But those who want to get nicely wasted and have a good day are more than happy to play by some rules that encourage drinking. And those who drink Archers etc cannot then give it the "big spuds" about being full-bloodiers cos they are not, they are just (chav) wannabes.

Here's an idea Jim. We split into 2 teams as previous years, and the team who scores drinks a 37% shot of their choice, but they choose what shot the individuals on the conceding team have to drink ?!!!

Still have players per person for goals/cards. And if it is a 0-0, there is a double fine for all !

Everyone drinks, some just dont like what theyre drinking !!!

Said something along the lines of we should all stop arguing, yes me and Gents did you but life goes on. At this rate bloody sunday is gonna be 8.5 hours of everyone calling Smithy a Chav.

We should be looking forward to Bloody Sunday and making plans together, if people don't wanna do 40% shots, so what?? You can't make them so there is no point arguing about it (dont think everyone would have made it if all shots were 40% last yr). The day is what u make it.

51 days to go.................

- very true, you can't make em and it would be irresponsible to try and force people to get drunk if they don't want to. The thing is that the first Bloody Sunday everyone was happy to knock these drinks back as part of the fun, everyone was hammered and it was a very messy night where stupid & funny things just happened, and it was a great day which we'll all remember without us even trying to make it good.

2 years later and it's a totally different mentality, a hell of a lot of people not wanting to get drunk, choosing to drink weak shots that have no effect, and sitting around waiting for other people to start getting drunk, saying/doing stupid things. This has a knock-on effect on the people who were up for having a large one becuase they think "hang on, im not getting hammered and becoming the day's entertainment so these boring gits can sit around laugh, take some photos and go on about how thay lasted the whole of Bloody Sunday but weren't that drunk for months after". So nothing happens. Its obvious that the more sober people are, the less stupid things they are gonna do/say - and the less funny we are gonna find them when they do happen. So if people aren't gonna drink much anymore we'll have to make our entertainment in other ways if we want the day to be as entertaining as the first one. Otherwise we just except that nothing will beat the original and stop hyping up the day so much, and just treat is as a big get-together where we have a few drinks and see what happens.

I think we should have 2 tables, one for the real full-bloodiers, and one for the wannabes, where they can make up their own games and drink coke or whatever.
I'd imagine there will still be quite a few up for getting in the (37%) spirit of things and getting hammered from the start, creating an atmosphere where anyone not in a similar state will feel left out and will be dying to join the real drinkers. And then we will have the proper day of carnage that we all crave!
The main lesson we have learned from last year is that getting pissed on BS doesn't just happen, it needs to be made to happen, and this year I can see many people hitting it hard from the start, which should hopefully mean that by the time the scousers and geordies appear to do battle singing and nakedness will be well underway.
