Just for the record, my earlier post might have been misleading. I will be doing 37%+ shots, I was just pointing out that some people won't want to.

Think I will bottle Stella and stick to Fosters though.

I think last year we went on about it so much and invited so many people, people were turning up who just werent up for it. I'm inclined to agree with Gentz, we should just let it happen, those that want to be there will, and they are the full-hearted-bloodiers. Those who need persuading to attend, obviously do not understand the cause for BS..... and thats to get ######??????

Right then, one week to go!

Things we need to decide in advance of the big day:

1) Where & when are we going to drink the victory wine? Current best suggestion is on the walk from Tesco to the ringers.
2) Are we going to have some sort of dress code?Shirt & tie has been suggested.
3) Getting some musical instruments from early learning centre has been discussed. Are we going to do this?
4) Are we just going to have one player each, or take sides in one of the games?

Discuss.

1) Think on the walk from Tesco to the ringers is about the only option, my concerns about this is that if we have just eaten 2 mega-breakfasts each and then try drinking loads of fizzy stuff while walking we are just gonna be completely bloated - will this slow down drinking?
2) Good idea, but it'll just get destroyed - do we want good clothes to get wresked?
3) Definitely up for this, will look into this tomorrow.
4) Personally i prefer the original and best idea of having a couple of players each because its funnier laughing at 1 or 2 people's misfortune when their man gets sent off, scores, etc. And more importantly its too hard to keep tabs on whether people are actually drinking their fines when 15-odd people have the same player and are supposed to all be having their shots at the same time, im sure some sneaky lightweights just dont bother! We could split into 2 teams for the 2nd game tho (better to do it for the 2nd game as weve all had a bit more to drink by that time and are more likely to sing/abuse each other)

1)Don't have an opinion on this one as i am coming from Town and won't be able to make it for the annual Tesco Brekkie.
2)Dressing up is a good idea but i kind of agree with Gentz, as in past years shoes and socks have been taken off (forcefully) and through around the pub not too mention Gentz getting naked or the nud run. Therefore i can imagine clothes getting messed up. If people want to do it though it should be up to them.
3)The investment of toy instruments from the ELC is a great idea and i am willing to partake in the purchase if needed, just let me know.
4)I must admit that i think one game should be individuals and another should be teams. Always reckon that is a good laff.

Ive just had a thorough look around town and there is generally a dissapointing lack of plastic instruments on sell, but i did find some good stuff. At the ELC most things on this page are available: http://www.elc.co.uk/key-10200/pageNum-1/p1-SubCategory/p2-61/SubCategory.do - the inflatable guitar and cool keyboard look pretty good for a tenner each, sadly i didnt see a "jungle beat set" tho.

For cheaper options, Wilkinsons had lots of tackier guitars/keybords/trumpets/saxophones for about £5-£6. Plus a noise-making kit for a few quid which was basically about 10 wind-instruments likes whistles and flutes.

The Entertainer had a nice ten-piece set of instruments including drum, cymbals and trumpet for £12.

I think if we can get £25 together and get an electronic keyboard, noise-making set, and ten-piece set from the Entertainer we'll have a great selection. Or we could just buy individual instruments? I can make purchases this week.

I reckon go with the £25 worth Gents, it should only work out a quid each for those that are there, and the entertainment value will be far higher. Will try to find the sheet music for the circus chant too!
Yeah maybe smart clothes isn't a good idea, but we could have a colour theme, say red, so we can tell who the full bloodiers are. Well I'll be wearing my red fire t-shirt anyway!
I think when it comes to the 2nd game it will be the usual case of scouse thieves vs anti-scouse thieves so we might as well take sides. But all fines must be drunk in the tv area, and should be rigorously enforced.
No surprise to see the T-bag getting his excuses in early - are townies not allowed into Nailsea before lunchtime or something?!

Don't get me started on the bloody circus music! The problem is finding out what the bloody thing is called, ive spent hours on Amazon trawling thru samples of circus music on albums like these: http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/detail/-/B000002NRK/ref=pd_bxgy_text_1_cp/103-5665141-9073436?v=glance&s=classical&st=* - to try and just find the name of the music, but cant find it anywhere! How can a proper circus music album not have the circus music on?!?!?

I think if we find out the name of the song we can definitely try learning to play the tune by Sunday, or at the very least download a copy of it to play.

Does anyone want to come and get these instruments with me tomorrow (Wednesday) lunch time? Ive got no problem buying them myself, but im going straight out on the beers at 5 o-clock tomorrow and then not in work for the rest of the week so i obviously have a problem getting them back to Nailsea by the weekend.

Or if no-one fancies a trip around some toy shops tomorrow, can anyone who works near me or will be near my work tomorrow afternoon pick them up and take them back to Nailsea?

Cheers

Still no volunteers for instrument collection then? Looks like we may have to provide even more of our own own vocal musical entertainment!
Shall we say meet 10.30 at Tesco, to witness Gents take on the double mega-breakfast challenge?
And everyone is going to wear red?
Any guesses how many full-bloodiers there will be? I estimate about 20-25 in total, with others joining at various times. The shameful absence of my brother should be the only HMZ absentee.

I think it'll be pretty obvious within a minute of the game kicking off that we're not Liverpool fans :punch:
