It'll probably be a struggle to get much organised for tonight now, but how about we get a few fireworks and the remaining Thatchers and have a fire party on Friday night? Not sure where we could find for a venue - somewhere like Morgans Hill probably unless anyone wants to donate their house to the flames, come on Fire Fans!! This could also be the end of Brian if we decide he has no other use??
Phil is Director of sparklers by the way.

And of course the fire music will be blasting out, I'm hoping to persuade Electric 6 to play. Wow this is going to be the event of the year, and I only thought of it half an hour ago...

If your other plans are what i think they are, then i think Block could be easily persuaded to go up morgan's hill for a fire instead of going to the pub!

I was gonna mention that we need to do some serious Thatchers drinking sometime before it goes bad, this weekend would seem like a prime time...

So all in favour of Fire Thursday and Fire Friday?? We do have a lot of thatchers to get through.

So is anyone up for some Thatchers & Flames tonight then?

How are we going to lure Block to Morgan's Hill for the "ceremony"? Tell him there's an internet bus there? Or Ring of the Lords 3?

Right Fire Fans how about this for a variation on Fire Friday:

In Hewish tonight at 7pm there are a few fireworks going off, including Britain's biggest firework! It is 7 foot tall and goes 2 miles up in to the sky. Flights at Bristol Airport have had to be diverted! There is a picture of it in this week's North Somerset Times.

Who's up for taking a bit of Thatchers and seeing that go off? I'll drive and leave just after 6 if anyone fancies it - we'll be back by 8 if anyone has plans after?

Hmmm there are several comments there that make me think it wont be the best idea in terms of safety:

"Jungle Jim" and "7 foot tall firework",
"Thatchers" and "I'll drive"

are the first ones that spring to mind!

Britain's biggest Firework
2 miles high
Planes diverted!

just a half of thatchers for me!

If planes are refusing to get within 10,000 feet of this warzone, I think we would be mental to get within 10 feet of it/you!

Here's the story from the n. somerset times - unfortunately they havent put the picture on but if anyone has a fax at work i can send you it as i've brought it with me!

Fireworks will divert planes

Aeroplanes may be diverted from flying over the site of a massive Guy Fawkes event on November 7 in case they get hit by a giant firework.

The massive fireworks, thought to be the only ones in the country, travel more than two miles up in the air after launching and will be set off during the finale of a show in Hewish.

More than three tonnes of fireworks will go up in smoke behind Avon Vehicle Dismantlers on the A370.

The show has been organised by AVD and Clevedon-based company Firemagic and more than £10,000 of fireworks will be let off to music.

Firemagic owner Andy Collins said: "Part of the event will be an 18-minute display including a brand new range of fireworks.

"We have been talking to Bristol International Airport because some of the fireworks will be in the flight path and we either want to let them off when the planes are not flying or they may have to be diverted."

The gates and car park will open at 6pm on November 7 and the fireworks will begin at 7pm. Tickets are available from Avon Vehicle Dismantlers before the show and also on the gate on the night.

I'm coming home this afternoon for the weekend and I can't think of a better home-coming than fire and cider!

It's Britain's biggest firework, take pride in where we live (even if they are from CLevedon) and we can laugh at the rest of the country with their pathetic little fireworks!

Make her day, put something in cider
